In short, the new EU GDPR replaces the\u00a0Data Protection Directive 95\/46\/EC and was designed to\u00a0synchronize data privacy laws\u00a0throughout Europe,\u00a0to\u00a0protect and empower all EU citizens data privacy and to reshape the way organizations across the region approach data privacy.<\/p>\n<p>Here at Ronin,\u00a0we are\u00a0committed to protecting your privacy, your data privacy, and your customers&#8217; data privacy to the utmost standards accepted and agreed upon by the laws set up by the countries in which we operate. We have updated our Terms of Service (TOS), Privacy Policy, as well as a Data Processing Addendum (DPA) to further reflect the latest changes in data privacy laws and regulation (discussed below).<\/p>\n<p>If you&#8217;re unfamiliar with\u00a0the GDPR, we&#8217;ve put together a quick debriefer to help you along. The GDPR is about:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Data consent.<\/li>\n<li>As a citizen of EU, you have the right to tell\u00a0a business if you want\u00a0them to keep\u00a0your data or not.<\/li>\n<li>Businesses that don\u2019t just take in data but also send\u00a0need to send it to other businesses (via integrations) need to comply to new standards set forth by the GDPR. When there are multiple levels of service agreements, consent becomes complex and the GDPR helps streamline this process.<\/li>\n<li>The Privacy Policy determines if\u00a0a business\u00a0can take data\u00a0directly from its customers and a new Data Processing Addendum (DPA)\u00a0is added to the\u00a0Privacy Policy\u00a0to discuss\u00a0how\u00a0businesses can process data through other 3rd parties.<\/li>\n<li>If you reside in the EU, you must agree to the new DPA in addition to the Privacy Policy, effective May 25th, 2018.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p>Going forward, your Ronin services\u00a0will be\u00a0governed by our updated:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.roninapp.com\/site\/tos\">Terms of Service (TOS)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.roninapp.com\/site\/privacy\">Privacy Policy<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.roninapp.com\/site\/eu-dpa\">Data Processing Addendum\u00a0(DPA)<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Actions Required:<\/strong> Please review the three documents above ASAP. The new Terms are <strong>immediately applicable<\/strong> and the EU DPA portion is also <strong>immediately applicable<\/strong> starting May 25th.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>I<\/strong><strong>f\u00a0you cannot agree or comply<\/strong><\/em> to the terms, please terminate\u00a0your Ronin services and we will immediately remove all of\u00a0your data.
